At work we have an inhouse developed CMS named Cricket, and i have been toying with the idea of linking it to Microsoft Office (mainly word but in the future who knows) and perhaps even OpenOffice (even if the demand for that in this sector probably is a lot lower). To test this idea i wrote a simple script using MSXML, and it worked like a charm. With it i can post information to a webpage (thereby alowing me to update pages) as well as reading pages to allow loading them in Word. What needs to be done bofore this idea can be used is to enable the CMS and Word to share a common structure for the information, if this will be RTF, XML och HTML will have to be decided, but i think that this type of integration will make the CMS product a lot more attractive (since the main target audiance are the type of people that can handle word but not a lot more).
