I have been watching the ASUS EEE ever since it was announced, and with the new 7" version it looks even better (weight might be an issue and integrated HDSPA would be nice, but still). Now Acer and Gigabyte are both announcing that they are to release their own budget laptops. If this means that you can get a light, small laptop with an ok battery time then i think its a big step forward. On the other hand, with enough cash i think that the Sony Vaio TZ or something like it is a better buy.
